Achievements at Department Level

• The Department of Electrical Engineering is accredited five time successively by the National Board of Accreditation (AICTE), New Delhi. (2009, 2013, 2017, 2020 & 20023).
• The strength of the department lies in its qualified, dedicated and motivated faculty members from NITs, IITs and other leading institutes of India and abroad. Thirteen faculties hold PhD degrees and ten faculty members are pursuing Ph.D. from the reputed institute of India. All the faculty members are M.Tech. Qualified.
• Grants have been received for projects, conferences, workshops and seminars under various schemes from AICTE, RTU and DST.
• A five-day FDP on  "Techno-Economic Assessment of Flexibility Competency in Deregulated Power System" was conducted from September 20-24, 2021. 
• An expert Lecture on "Introduction to Parallel Converters" was delivered by Dr. Kapil Shukla, Assistant Professor, Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur on September 28, 2021.
• The department has conducted a TEQIP-III sponsored workshop on “Simulation Software for Electrical Engineers: SSEE-2021” in association with Rajasthan Technical University, Kota from February 8-12, 2021.
• The department has conducted a TEQIP-III sponsored faculty development Programme on “Green Energy: The Energy Of Future” during September 7-11, 2020.
• An expert talk on ‘Commissioning Procedure of EHV Power Transformer and Few Case Studies Of Their Failures’ was delivered by Mr. Yashpal Choudhary, Chief Manager, O&M, PGCIL on Sept 13, 2020.
• The Department of Electrical Engineering, SKIT M&G has organized RTU (ATU) sponsored five-days student workshop on “Hands on Training on MATLAB for Engineers (HTME-2020)”, from 12-16 December, 2020.
• A grant has been received for conduction of Short Term Training Program (STTP) under AICTE Quality Improvement Schemes (AQIS) in 2020.
• Two Collaboration Research Scheme (CRS) projects grants have been received from TEQIP-III RTU (ATP) in 2019-20.
• All the laboratories are as per the RTU curriculum and are established on par with state of art technology. Four computer laboratories with software that includes MATLAB, PSCAD, Proteus, etc. are also established in the department.  One dedicated computer lab for research scholars is also there.
• The department has state of art laboratories including two laboratories that are funded with AICTE– MODROBS scheme. The financial grant has been received through AICTE under MODROBS scheme in the year 2011-12 & 2016-17.
• Two grants from Department of Science of Technology and one additional grant (under Seminar grant Scheme) have been received for R&D projects in 2017-18.
• The department has conducted an AICTE sponsored two-days (27-28 October, 2017) National Conference on “Design Aspects, Operation and Control of Smart Grid”. 
• The department has conducted an International Conference on “Engineering Optimization & Data Science” (ICEODS-2019) on 11–12 October 2019.
• A Leadership & Management Workshop, UK-India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI) has been conducted under AICTE British Council in 2017-18.
• Electrical Engineering Department is a Recognized Research Centre of Rajasthan Technical University, Kota for offering PhD in Electrical Engineering.
• Department of Electrical Engineering is flag bearer in the initiatives to make the campus green. SKIT is the first total green campus in Rajasthan with 900 kW Solar Power Plant (400 kW Rooftop + 500 kW Captive). Department of Electrical Engineering has played a key role in establishment and commissioning of 400 kW, Roof Top Solar Power Plant at SKIT in 2015 under the supervision of Dr. S. K. Calla Ex Director D&W (SKIT, Jaipur), Ex. CMD RRVVNL.
• A separate department library is available to facilitate faculties and students with access to the latest engineering journals including IEEE, IET Journals, and Elsevier Journals.
• Electrical Department has established the Institutes of Engineers, India (IEI) student’s chapter which regularly organizes various academic and technical activities under the flagship of senior faculty members.
• Department is organizing campus recruitment training & soft skill development programs regularly for students to enhance their skills.

Achievements at Faculty Level

• One of our faculty member Dr. Ankit Vijayvargiya has been selected as a visiting researcher for a month at Khalifa University Abu Dhabi, UAE.
• Two of our faculty members Mr. Vikas Ranveer Singh Mahala and Dr. Pooja Jain have been selected for NPTEL Translator for subjects Optical Communication and Linear integrated circuits and Op-Amps respectively.
• One of our faculty member Mr. Abhishek Gupta has been selected as expert member of Student learning Assessment (SLA) Project of AICTE India.
• Numbers of faculty members were awarded gold/silver labeled certificates in different NPTEL / mooKIT / IITBX / SWAYAM courses since last 4 years.
• Faculty members have publications in reputed peer reviewed Journals, International and National Conferences, Book Chapters in leading publishers namely Taylor and Francis, Elsevier, Springer and on IEEE explore. Around More than 260 research publications have been published till date.
• Some faculty members are reviewers of reputed journals, members of Board of Governors & Board of Studies, RTU, Kota and top rank holders in NPTEL courses.
• Best-Paper-Award titled "Grey Wolf Optimizer Based Regulator Design for Automatic Generation Control of Interconnected Power System" received by Dr. Akash Saxena from Cogent Engineering.
• Best-Paper-Award titled “Distribution Power Loss Minimization by Network Reconfiguration and DG Placement” received by Dr. Sarfaraz Nawaz in First International Conference “Technovation-2018” held at Poornima University, Jaipur.
• Best-Paper-Award titled “Application of Grey Wolf Optimization in Order Reduction of Large Scale LTI Systems” received by Mr. Abhishek Gupta in 4th IEEE UPCON 2017 held at GLA University, Mathura.
• Award for Excellent contribution in technical education by Lions club Jaipur (2015-16) to Dr. (Prof.) S. L. Surana.
• Best Teacher Award by State Bank of India (2014-15) and Principal Teacher’s Award by Simply Jaipur (2015-16) to Prof. Ramesh Kumar Pachar.
• Prof. S. K. Calla also served Institution of Engineers India (IEI) as a Chairman of the Rajasthan State Chapter for year 2012 to 2014 and currently serving it as a member of the Council.
• Prof. S.L. Surana (Editor-in-chief) and Prof. Ramesh Pachar (Editor) are providing their contribution in publication of inter-disciplinary research journal , “SKIT Research Journal”, An International Journal of Engineering, Science, Humanities and Management Innovation and Excellence.
• Letters of Appreciation for reviewing assignments for Journal of Engineering, Science and Technology by Taylor University, Malaysia (2014-15, 2015-16) and recognitions for Key Note Speeches in various National Conferences and TEQIP Sponsored faculty development program to Dr. Akash Saxena.
• Department possesses encouraging policies for the faculty members, who want to pursue Higher Studies. In this context nine faculty members are involved in their Ph.D. in 2021.
• Department has organized Blood Donation Camps in years 2013, 2014, and 2015 in association with Red Cross society under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Ankush Tandon.
• “Mahatma Gandhi Swashtya Seva Mitra Puruskaar” by Mahatma Gandhi Hospital for social services (2015-16) and Certificate of Excellence by Rotary club Jaipur to Dr. S. K. Calla.

Achievements at Student Level

• A large number of alumni of the Electrical Engineering department have been placed at reputed administrative positions e.g., IAS, IES, RAS, Defense Services, PSUs, etc.
• One of our student Ms. Aakriti Diwedi (EE batch 2017-21) secured 4th rank in the Merit list of Rajasthan Technical University.
• Students have been placed in reputed companies e.g., Infosys, Capgemini, Cognizant, Renew Power, Polycab, CAPE Electric, Pinnacle Infotech Solutions, Kalpataru Power Transmission, Genus, Torrent Power, Thrillophilia, BYJU’s, etc.
• Every year many students have cracked the GATE examinations with good scores.
• Project “Wi-Fi-based Vehicle Security system” won the Best Project Award in the category of Technical Projects during ”UdHBHAV-2022”, The National Project Exhibition, Organized by Poornima Institute of Engineering Technology, Jaipur, on 22 Aug 2022.
• Project ” IoT-based Home Automation System“ won third prize in the National Level Project Exhibition-2022, Organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering of Vivekanand Global University, Jaipur.
• Project “Net Zero Automatic Solar Panel Cleaning Robot” won the Best Demonstration and Presentation Award in the e-Yantra Ideas Competition (eYIC-2018) at IIT Bombay.
