Q1:      From which body is SKIT approved?

A1:      SKIT is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Department of Technical Education, Government of Rajasthan, Jaipur.

 

Q2:      To which university is SKIT affiliated?

A2:      SKIT is affiliated to Rajasthan Technical University (RTU), Kota established by the Government of Rajasthan. RTU conducts the examination and awards the degree.

 

Q3:      Which rank does SKIT hold amongst all the affiliated colleges under RTU, Kota?

A3:      SKIT holds First Rank (1st Rank) in Rajasthan amongst all RTU affiliated colleges for the last 4 consecutive years (2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21).

 

Q4:      Are engineering programmes of SKIT accredited by NBA?

A4:      Yes, the engineering branches of SKIT are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi and also by the Institution of Engineers (IE), Kolkata.

A5:      The Institute offers regular Under Graduate (B.Tech.) & Post Graduate (M.Tech.) programmes in engineering, and Post Graduate (MBA) programme in management disciplines. The duration of UG programme is 4 years and PG programme is 2 years.

 

Q6:      Is SKIT recognized by RTU, Kota to offer Ph.D Programme?

A6:      Yes, some of the engineering departments viz.  Electrical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering departments are recognized as a research centre by RTU, Kota to offer full/ part time Ph.D Programmes.

 

Q7:      What is the medium of instruction?

A7:      The medium of instruction is English.

 

Q8:      Is college uniform compulsory for students at SKIT? What is fee for uniform?

A8:      Yes, the college uniform is compulsory to maintain a culture of unity and parity amongst students. The uniform cost of 7 items is Rs. 4725/- (Rs. 4,500/- +5% GST) for two shirts, two trousers, one blazer, one half sleeve pullover, one tie, one belt, socks (two pairs). Black leather shoes with laces must be purchased from college counter/outside shops. The cost of shoes is Rs. 500+5% GST at college counter.

FAQs for Admission to B.Tech. Programme 

 

Q1:      What is the eligibility criterion for admission in B.Tech. programme?

A1:      Candidate must have passed class-XII (10+2) examination with combination of any three subjects; with physics and/or Mathematics as compulsory subject(s) along with Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Electronics/ Information Technology/ Biology/Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/Entrepreneurship from any recognized board/university.

Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) individually in each of the three subjects mentioned above.

OR

Candidate must have passed minimum 3 years/ 2 years Diploma examination in engineering & technology with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates from reserved category) from AICTE approved Institution/UGC recognized University, subject to vacancies in the B.Tech. First Year provided the vacancies for lateral entry are exhausted.

 

Q2:      Is there any age criteria in REAP-2021 admission Process?

A2:      No, there is no age limit.

 

Q3:      Is the candidate with class-12 from NIOS Board eligible for admission in B.Tech. programme?

A3:      Yes, the candidate with class-12 from NIOS Board is eligible for admission in B.Tech. programme.

 

Q4:      Is the candidate who has compartment in any subject in class-12/Diploma eligible?

A4:      No, the candidate must have passed all subjects (without compartment) in class-12/ Diploma before the last date of filling of REAP-2021 application form/ Management quota.

 

Q5:      Can the candidate avail the benefit of reservation for admission in B.Tech. programme?

A5:      No, the reservation quota is not applicable in private Institutions affiliated to RTU, Kota.

            The admission process is as follows:

6.1 For Out of Rajasthan state and Rajasthan state candidates: Eligible candidates can apply through REAP website- www.reap2021.com by filling an online Application cum Registration Form as per REAP schedule.

 

6.2 For Management Quota: Candidates need to apply in person at Institute premises for admission under this category.

Eligibility for Supernumerary Seats:

7.1 TFWS Seats: Additional 5% seats of the approved intake in each branch are reserved for the candidates belonging to economically backward class of Rajasthan State with the family income lesser than or equal to Rs. 8 Lacs p.a. from all sources. Candidates should select the appropriate option to indicate income while filling REAP-2021 application form. These seats will be allotted to the candidates on the basis of merit by REAP. An income proof is required at the time of admission.

 

7.2 EWS Seats: Additional 10% seats of the approved intake in each branch are reserved for candidates of Rajasthan state belonging to the economically weaker section. The family income of the candidate should be less than or equal to Rs. 8 Lacs p.a. from all the sources for applying under EWS category. Candidates should select category “EWS” in the REAP-2021 application form. These seats will be allotted to the candidates on the basis of merit by REAP. A certificate by the competent authority is mandatory at the time of admission.

 

7.3 KM Seats: Additional 5% seats of the approved intake in each branch are reserved for the candidates whose parents have migrated from Jammu & Kashmir State. A certificate to this effect by the competent authority is required at the time of admission.

 

7.4 PMSSS Seats: Additionally, a total of 20 seats in different branches are reserved for candidates belonging to Union Territories (UTs) of J&K and Ladakh who have passed 12th exam from J&K/ CBSE board affiliated schools located in J&K and Ladakh from 2018-19 onwards. The family income of the candidate should be less than or equal to Rs. 8 Lacs p.a. from all the sources for applying under PMSSS category. The application and allotment process for admission under this category is governed by AICTE, New Delhi which can be located at https://www.aicte-jk-scholarship-gov.in/AICTE provides scholarship to meet the expenditure towards Academic Fees (other than non refundable fees) and Maintenance Allowances to the candidates admitted under this category.

 

Q8:      Does the candidate need to apply separately for TFWS/EWS seats through REAP-2021 ?

A8:      No, there is no need to apply separately for TFWS/EWS seats by eligible candidates. The application form for REAP-21 requires complete details for this sake from the candidate.

Q11:    Is the candidate holding Diploma (3 years) eligible to apply for admission in B.Tech. programme through REAP-2021 ?

A11:    Yes, the candidate who holds the Diploma (3 years) in Engineering & Technology is eligible to apply for admission in any branch of 1st year B.Tech. programme through REAP-2021 .

 

Q12:    Who is the criterion for applying as domicile of Rajasthan state in REAP-2021 ?

A12:    The Domicile Certificate of Rajasthan State is issued by the competent authority/ Govt. of Rajasthan. In absence of above prescribed formats (available on REAP-2021 website) as per following categories can be used to satisfy domicile requirement:

 

12.1 Category-A: The candidate himself / herself or any of his / her natural parents (father/mother) is a bonafide resident of Rajasthan.

 

12.2 Category-B: The candidate has studied continuously as a regular candidate in recognized educational institutions in Rajasthan for minimum past three years including the year in which he/she has passed/ appeared the qualifying examination (i.e. X, XI and XII exam).

 

12.3 Category-C: The candidate is a son/daughter of either a serving employee or of a retired employee of any of the following:

12.3.1 Govt. of Rajasthan (including officers of all India service borne on the State cadre of Rajasthan).

12.3.2 Undertakings/ Corporations/ Improvement Trusts/ Municipal Boards/Panchayat Samities / Co-operative Bodies duly constituted by the Government of Rajasthan.

12.3.4 Statutory Bodies and Corporations formed under the Indian Companies Act incorporated in Rajasthan.

OR

            The candidate is a son/daughter of an employee of any of the Government Universities in Rajasthan or Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan or Government Engineering Colleges of Rajasthan who has put in of three years’ service on the date of submission of application in any of the above bodies.

OR

            The candidate is a son/daughter of an employee of Central Government or Institutions of the Central Government including Public Sector Undertakings or Corporations and who is on the regular rolls and is serving in the State of Rajasthan on the date of application.

OR

            The candidate is a son/daughter of an employee of Rajasthan origin, serving in Defence/ Central Government services/Public Sector undertakings/National Institutes of Government of India, who has put in at least three years of service on the last date for submission of application irrespective of his/her place of posting provided a certificate is submitted by the employee from the employer to this effect stating the State of origin and the home town as given by him/her at the time of his/her entry into service.

 

Q13:    How many rounds will be conducted for admission in B.Tech. programme through REAP-2021 ?

A13:    There are three rounds of the counseling through REAP-2021 as per following details:

           

13.1 1st Round and Upward Movement (2nd Round) for Out of Rajasthan state candidates15% seats of approved intake would be allotted on merit basis according to the filled option/choice form in REAP-2021 application form.

Upward Movement (2nd Round): Out of Rajasthan state candidates can also apply online for upward movement through REAP-2021 . They may get seat allotment on the basis of availability of vacant seats as per the upper choices filled in their option form of REAP-2021 .

           

13.2 2nd Round for Rajasthan state candidates: 70% seats of approved intake would be allotted to the candidates of Rajasthan State on merit basis according to the filled option/choice form in REAP-2021 application form.

           

13.3 3rd Round (Upward Movement) for Rajasthan State Candidates: Candidates [(a) who had their choice exhausted in the earlier round of allotment and (b) those who report in the allotted institute} can apply for Upward movement through REAP-2021 . They may get seat allotment on the basis of availability of vacant seats as per the upper choices filled in their option form of REAP-2020.

           

13.4 Internal Sliding (4th Round)The candidates of Rajasthan state need to apply online on REAP-2021 website for the internal sliding within the allotted institute only according to REAP-2021 schedule. The internal sliding will be carried out by the institute as per REAP-2021 guidelines. Preferred branch will be allotted against the vacant seats (if any).

           

Q14:    Is there a provision of management quota for admission in B.Tech. programme at SKIT?

A14:    Yes, 15% seats of approved intake in each branch are reserved for all candidates. They have to apply in person for admission in B.Tech. programme under management quota at SKIT Campus, Jaipur only.

 

Q15:    What is the schedule of REAP-2021 admission process for B.Tech. programme?

A15:    The tentative schedule of REAP-2021 admission process for the B.Tech. programme will be announced soon by REAP Committee.

 

Q16:    How to apply for online REAP-2021 Application cum Registration Form for admission in B.Tech. programme (other than Management Quota)?

A16:    All candidates must follow the following steps for admission in B.Tech. programme while filling the online REAP-2021 Application cum Registration Form on REAP-2021 website- www.reap2021.com

 

16.1 Step-1: Deposition of Application cum Registration Form fee

16.1.1. Fee for REAP-2021 Application cum Registration Form is Rs. 250/- (non-refundable/non-transferable) excluding transactional charges (if any).

16.1.2. The REAP-2021 Application cum Registration Form will automatically become active after successful payment.

 

16.2 Step-2: Necessary documents to be kept ready before filling the REAP-2020 Application cum Registration Form

16.2.1. Scanned image of candidate’s Photograph in jpg format (Maximum size 100 KB)

16.2.2. Scanned image of candidate’s Signature in jpg format (Maximum size 50 KB)

16.2.3. Scanned images of mark sheets of Class-12 or equivalent (Maximum size 150 KB)

16.2.4. Mobile number and email ID of the candidate.

16.2.5. Aadhaar Card number or acknowledgement receipt number of Aadhaar card (In case of Aadhaar card is not available).

16.2.6. Class-10th Mark sheet.

16.2.7. EWS Certificate (if applicable)

All scanned images must be clear & legible.

 

16.3 Step-3: Instructions for filling online REAP-2021 Application cum Registration Form

16.3.1. The candidate must read instructions before filling the online REAP-2021 Application cum Registration Form carefully.

16.3.2. All the entries in online REAP-2021 Application cum Registration Form must be filled as required.

16.3.3. The candidate must upload all the requisite documents as instructed on the web portal.

16.3.4. The candidate has to fill option/ choice form carefully after successful completion of REAP- 2021 Application cum Registration Form.

16.3.5. The online REAP-2021 Application cum Registration Form can be edited (if required) before final submission.

16.3.6. No changes can be made in the option/ choice form and REAP-2021 Application cum Registration Form after final submission in any circumstances.

 

16.4 Step-4: Taking Printouts/Hardcopy only after final submission of application form.

The candidate may take printouts of REAP-2021 Application cum Registration Form and option/ choice form, which will be generated after final submission.

 

Q17:    Is physical presence of the candidate mandatory at the time of reporting at allotted college?

A17:    Yes, the physical presence of the candidate is mandatory at time of reporting at the allotted college.

 

Q18:    What are the documents required for admission in B.Tech. programme at the time of reporting?

A18:    Candidates must carry original documents along with their self-attested photocopies for verification of the eligibility of admission at the time of reporting. The list of supporting documents is mentioned below:

Q19:    Is medical fitness certificate mandatory for admission in B.Tech. programme?

A19:    Yes, the prescribed medical fitness certificate duly signed by a doctor (which is available on REAP website) is mandatory at the time of admission.

 

Q20:    What is the college fee for B.Tech. programme?

A20:    The fee for SFS, EWS & KM categories approved by the State Level Fee Determination Committee (appointed by Govt. of Rajasthan) and/or Competent Authority is as follows.

* In case of renewal of accreditation by NBA, institute is allowed by state level fee determination committee for collection of additional 20% increased fee of ME and EC branches of B.Tech. program from concerned students.

  • TFWS category: Admitted under this scheme, the candidate is not required to deposit the tuition fee.
  • The course fee is accepted in two installments (semester wise).
  • The additional fee of the affiliating university (RTU, Kota) is to be paid as per the university requirement.

*The above course fees may be revised by the Govt. of Rajasthan/Competent Authority. This stands applicable for the students admitted in the academic session 2021-22.

 

 

Q21:    What is the boys/girls hostel fee?

A21:    SKIT provides air cooled hostel facility for boys & girls separately. The Nirwana Boys Hostel has single occupancy & Noran Girls Hostel has double occupancy in Institute premises. The hostel charges including lodging & boarding are given below:

Note: In view of the current pandemic situation, the above fee is not applicable for session 2020-21. The fee will be decided on a monthly basis starting from the month of occupancy of hostel till June 2021.

A22:    Yes, a fleet of 16 buses provides pick-up and drop facility to students from various points covering almost all areas in Jaipur city and offers to ensure a hassle-free and safe transportation. Q23:    What is the mode of fee payment available at SKIT?

A23:    Candidates can deposit their fees through one of following modes:

23.1 Online: Fee Payment Portal https://erp.skit.ac.in/payments

23.2 Offline: Cash/ Demand Draft in favour of ‘SKIT Jaipur’ at Institute premises.

 

Q24:    Can students avail education loan from a bank for their studies?

A24:    Yes, students can avail education loan from any Indian bank through Vidya Lakshmi portal https://www.vidyalakshmi.co.in/Students. Students can apply online and track the status of their application by accessing the portal.

 

Q25:    Is there another admission office/branch of SKIT in other cities?                                 

A25:    No, we do not have any admission office/branch anywhere in the country.

 

Q26:    What are the timings of admission cell at SKIT?

A26:    The admission cell at SKIT is open from Monday to Saturday from 8 AM to 5 PM. The timings on Sunday are 9.00 AM to 4:00 PM.
