REAP-2022 Reporting Instructions

The IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Student Affinity Group is inaugurated by Prof A.Q Ansari at Skit Campus on 5th Oct,2024.A dynamic initiative under the umbrella of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), dedicated to promoting women engineers and scientists, and inspiring girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). As one of the largest international professional organizations supporting women in technical fields, IEEE WIE fosters a global network of members and volunteers who share a common goal of advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in engineering and related disciplines.

Within the student community, the WIE Affinity Group plays a vital role by creating opportunities for personal and professional growth. It regularly organizes workshops, seminars, technical talks, panel discussions, mentorship sessions, and networking events that empower students—particularly young women—to build confidence, leadership skills, and technical expertise. By collaborating with industry experts, academic leaders, and fellow student branches, the group ensures exposure to cutting-edge technologies and real-world problem-solving environments.

The WIE Student Affinity Group also encourages outreach activities aimed at school and college students to raise awareness about STEM careers. Initiatives such as coding camps, innovation challenges, hackathons, and community service projects help inspire the next generation of women technologists and engineers.

Membership in the IEEE WIE Affinity Group is open to all students, irrespective of gender, who are committed to fostering inclusivity and innovation in engineering. By joining, members not only gain access to a global professional network but also become part of a movement that is shaping a more diverse and inclusive technological future.

In essence, the IEEE WIE Student Affinity Group is more than just a student body—it is a platform for collaboration, empowerment, and innovation, dedicated to building a strong community of future engineers and leaders.
