Idea Lab

Swami Keshvanand Institute of Technology, Management & Gramothan (SKIT) Jaipur has been sanctioned funding of ₹90 Lakhs under the AICTE IDEA Lab Scheme to establish a IDEA Lab within the campus. The AICTE IDEA Lab initiative, launched by the All-India Council for Technical Education, is aimed at fostering innovation, creativity, and experiential learning among students and faculty by providing access to modern tools, prototyping equipment, and an environment that promotes “learning by doing.”
The IDEA Lab at SKIT will be equipped with advanced facilities such as 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, IoT kits, electronic prototyping tools, and modern fabrication resources, enabling students to convert their innovative ideas into working prototypes. It will serve as a hub for interdisciplinary learning where students from all branches can collaborate to design solutions for real-world challenges.
For students, the IDEA Lab provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop 21st-century skills like problem-solving, design thinking, and teamwork, and participate in hackathons, workshops, and startup incubation activities. It will also help them to pursue innovation-driven projects, file patents, and explore entrepreneurial ventures.
For faculty members, the Lab opens new avenues for research, interdisciplinary projects, and innovation in teaching methodologies. Faculty will be able to mentor students more effectively, collaborate with industry and academia, and utilize the lab resources for developing impactful solutions, publications, and consultancy projects.
The establishment of the AICTE IDEA Lab at SKIT Jaipur is a major milestone towards creating a vibrant innovation ecosystem on campus, aligning with national initiatives such as Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India. It will not only benefit the SKIT community but also extend its support to nearby institutions and industries, strengthening academia industry linkages and promoting a culture of creativity and entrepreneurship.
