Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. Headquartered in Englewood, Colo., the organization's membership exceeds 358,000 in more than 16,800 clubs in 143 countries. Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped people from diverse backgrounds become more confident speakers, communicators, and leaders. Toastmasters follows the curriculum called The Pathways. This learning experience is Toastmasters' education program. This multi-language online learning tool allows you to leverage over 300 practical workplace skills, including: Interview Preparation, Online Meeting Management, Leadership Development, Project Management, Conflict Resolution and many more. SKIT Toastmasters club is a chartered member of Toastmasters international since 2007. The club has received various awards for club as well as individual participation. The club has been a continuous recipient of the highest educational awards: The President’s Distinguished club and The Golden Gavel Award.

 

Objectives:

The programme is designed in a way that addresses the following domains of skill-sets:

  • Public speaking skill
  • Leadership skills
  • Maximization of potential
  • Personal growth
  • Networking in a small and supportive environment
  • Practice in writing speeches and presenting in a group setting
  • Gaining a competitive advantage in the workplace
  • Self-confidence and self-awareness

 

Outcomes:

The members of the club have been able to achieve the following landmarks:

  • Success in placement drives
  • Enhanced self confidence.
  • Greater participation on the stage.
  • Participation and victories in speech contests.
  • Learning the art of giving effective feedback.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills.
