Swami Keshvanand Institute of Technology, Management & Gramothan (SKIT) inspired from the teachings of Swami Keshvanand Ji, was established in the year 2000 by Technocrats and Managers Society for Advanced Learning. Today the institute is recognized as one of the centers of academic excellence in Northern India. The Institute is affiliated to Rajasthan Technical University, Kota for offering Ph, D, Postgraduate and Graduate Courses in Engineering and Management. Located in the Pink City Jaipur, which is a blend of traditional history and modern outlook, SKIT is putting in efforts for making industry ready engineers and managers through effective Industry – Institute Interface. Apart from University curriculum SKIT also pursues activities for research and development in various fields. Green landscaping, aesthetic elegance of arches and the vibrant pursuit of knowledge by the young aspirants make the environment serene, pleasant and dynamic. SKIT has been again Ranked No. 1 Institute in Rajasthan by Rajasthan Technical University (RTU), Kota for academic session 2019-20.
DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY
The department has grown with strong research interests in the Physical Chemistry, Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Bioorganic Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry. The commitment to research is reflected in the research paper publications in reputed national and international journals as well as presentations of research papers in national and international conferences/ seminars. The department is well equipped to undertake projects sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Department of Science and Technology, and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. The department also encourages link with industry sponsored research. The faculty has been active in organizing scientific meetings from time to time.
SOCIETY FOR PROMOTION OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE (SPES)
SPES is a registered society, working in the different areas of education, science and social welfare. Its prime objective is to spread awareness of science and educational activities in urban and rural areas. It organizes seminars and symposium. The first conference was organized in March 29-31 2019 in Delhi University.
RELEVANCE OF THE CONFERENCE IN NATIONAL CONTEXT
India is developing very fast and is leaving a good impression on global society. Science and technology have profound impact on all human activities. There is hardly any part of life that is not influenced, in one way or the other, by science and technology. In fact, they have emerged as one of the most important drivers of a country’s economy and well being of its citizens.
It is, therefore, imperative that India strives to become a leader in science and technology. Several critical problems confronting India, especially agricultural production, water shortage, education, health & hygiene, energy and environment, waste management, chemical adulteration can be solved only by development of appropriate technology.
India is the second most populous country of the world and has had a rich tradition of learning in several areas, including science and technology. After Independence in 1947, India made huge investments in developing infrastructure for science and technology, education and research. Today, India has the third largest scientific manpower in the world.
Scientific meetings are one of the primary venues for scientists to present their new work with the purpose of receiving feedback at an early stage of their research, and thus they are an integral part of the process of science. In addition, meetings allow researchers to hear about what others in their field and related disciplines are doing, talk with colleagues from different institutions around the world, and learn about new research, tools, and techniques that might be relevant to their work.
CONFERENCE FOR THE PROMOTION OF SCIENCE
Science is the backbone of all the technologies. The conference is addressing various themes which have been kept wide to include variety of research papers.
This conference will provide an opportunity to listen and interact with senior scientists who have done great works in their fields of expertise, especially in the technical institutions; conference on science theme itself is the promotion of science.
Chemistry is universal and dynamic too. The real importance of chemistry is that it serves as the interface to all the other life sciences, as well as to many other areas of human health and living organisms’ endeavor. Chemistry is so deeply ingrained into different areas of business, and environmental management, that all the discourses of the subject are useful in the developmental activities in various fields. It also provides a great platform for chemistry researchers, scholars and educators to present and discuss the most special recent innovations, trends, practical challenges encountered and concerns the solutions adopted in the field of chemical science, thereby naturally promoting science.
OBJECTIVES OF THE CONFERENCE
The discipline chemical science links scientific research with applied inferences to design products/ technology for specialized uses. Chemical Science offers tremendous opportunities to improve product performance, human health and welfare, and environmental protection. Wide range of industries such as pharma, health care, polymers, energy, food & beverages, dyes, paper, textile and many more are actively using the research inferences drawn by the chemical scientists. Many improvements for quality of life are based upon these novel products/ technology.
This Conference will offer a peek at the horizon of these emerging innovations and attempt to identify potential NEWER AVENUES IN THE FIELD OF CHEMICAL SCIENCE that must be addressed as we move into the future.
BROAD THRUST AREAS
The Themes of the present conference have been considerably kept broad to encourage the positive and wide discussion on the subject. Potential topics to be addressed in this conference include
1. Nano-materials & New Engineering materials
2. Natural Products, Medicinal & Synthetic Chemistry
