Department of Management Studies (MBA)

In its endeavor to strengthen the philosophy of Swami Keshvanand Ji and achieve excellence in Techno Managerial Environment, the institute established Department of Management Studies in the academic year 2006-07, under the leadership of Prof. R. S. Mehta. Presently, Department of Management Studies offers an AICTE approved Post Graduate Degree Programme, affiliated to Rajasthan Technical University, Kota. The Department aims at developing future managers equipped with not only sound academics, but the requisite skills as well, which are so necessary to make a mark in the business world. To help to achieve academic excellence, the Department uses a blend of well-qualified and experienced core faculty and is supported by renowned visiting faculty members from industry and academia. The Institute also encourages on-going interactive sessions between students and professionals drawn from the corporate world. The Department possesses state of the art infrastructure. The emphasis is on holistic personality development and to mould the students into future corporate leaders.

Established in 2006, the department offers Two Years Post Graduate Degree Course as per the following details:

Course Details

Master of Business Administration (MBA), affiliated to Rajasthan Technical University, Kota (Session 2008- 2010).  The session is proposed to commence from 1 August 2008. The specializations are offered as per RTU syllabus.

Intake for Second Batch (THERE ARE 100 % ADMISSIONS IN PREVIOUS BATCHES)

1. Total Seats are 60.
2. Admission to 51 seats is based on merit in RMAT 2008.
3. 09 seats are Management Quota seats.

Eligibility Criteria

1. General candidates with 50 % marks in graduation and RMAT appeared.
2. SC, ST and OBC candidates with 45 % marks in graduation and RMAT appeared.
3. Admissions on Management Quota Seats are on the basis of merit in RMAT, MAT, CAT or other management aptitude tests.

Attendance

1. The students are required to be punctual in classes and to participate in various other activities.
2. The students are not allowed to take Term End / University examinations if their attendance falls below 75 % in any subject.
3. We expect our students to attend at least 85 % of the classes.

Participation in Seminar
MBA (Sem-I) students attended 'VCFIN 2008', 4 National Conference on 'Emerging Business Opportunities and the Role of Venture Capital' organized by FICCI, RIICO and RVCF.

Festivals
The students participated in various management festivals like 'ABLAZE 08', 'ZEPHYR 08', 'UTKARSH 08', 'MOSAIC 08', 'VIVA-CITY 08' etc. and won many prizes.

SKITMG Toastmaster's Club
The institute has successfully launched 'SKITMG Toastmaster's Club' for the benefit of students as well as faculty members, where the members of the club learn and practice effective communication and presentation skills.

SKIT Times
The creative spark in the young minds of our students finds a befitting expression in the form of words through 'SKIT Times'. This magazine is a joint effort of our students and faculty team and is mailed to 250 organizations across the country.

Pravah 08
This year, management students successfully organized activities like GIMMICKS, ADVERTIZIA, EXPRESSO, TECHNOGLADIATORS etc., during Pravah. The events attracted inter as well as intra college entries.

Industrial Visit
At SKITMG, emphasis is on practical application of the theoretical knowledge. To achieve this goal student visited Wires and Fabriks and Autolite India Ltd.

Infrastructure

Library & Documentation Centre
The Institute's library is a scholars pride, with collection of books on Engineering, Management,
Communications, Applied Science and Inter-disciplinary subjects. Video cassettes, Newspapers, Journals,
Magazines, Periodicals and other documented material is available for the students and faculty members. The library subscribes to 46 International and National journals. The library has up to 22,000 books, 5174
titles and 30 magazines. SKIT also has a digital library which makes these resources more accessible.

Main Block
The main academic block is the heart of the institute where most of the important activities are centered. Its four floors (including the basement) have 18 lecture rooms, (equipped with LCD facility) 6 tutorial rooms, 22 laboratories, 2 drawing halls, central library and 3 seminar halls along with an amphitheater (Open Air Theatre). The block is an educational abode. The Director's Office, The Principal's Office
and Accounts section are also placed in the same block. It is well ventilated, peaceful and adequately facilitated
.
Student Accommodation
SKITMG provides separate on-campus lodging facility for girls & boys. Students are provided with all basic amenities in the rooms. A peaceful, secure and comfortable environment provides to help development of students intellectually and socially.

In the academic session 2007-08, the institute has installed Wi-fi technology on the campus. Sports Facilities
The institute recognises the importance of sportsman spirit and team effort for students. This can be learned in congenial environment through sports and games. For this the institute has adequate sports facilities and state of the art infrastructure. Throughout the year a number of inter and intra college sports events are organised in the institute to enable the students to develop a spirit of healthy competition and team effort. The institute has adequate infrastructure for sports like Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess and several other indoor and outdoor games. The institute has its own Basketball & Volleyball teams that have participated in sports events across the state & have won laurels.

Prof. R.S. Mehta : MBA (IIM-A), PGDFT (IIFT, New Delhi), with nearly four decades of corporate and
academic experience in various senior positions. He is a multi faceted personality and possesses multi functional knowledge and specializes in HRD. He is a renowned trainer and speaker in various areas of management.

Prof. M.L. Bhargava : B.E. (Hons.) Mechanical, M.A. (Economics), with highly rich experience of corporate
sector. He is a noted expert from industry and former Chief General Manager, RIICO. He has contributed many articles for the benefit of academic community. He has been a Visiting Professor at CMSIC, MNIT, Jaipur.

Dr. Vikas Shrotriya : MBA, M.Com., MA, MFM, MFC, M.Phil., Ph.D., with 17 years of industrial and academic
experience. His research paper and articles have been placed in reputed journal and magazines. He has also been a visiting faculty member at MNIT, Jaipur.

Mr. Vishal Meel : MBA (International Finance & Accounting) from California Lutheran University, California with three years of corporate experience.

Ms Garima Jain : MBA from Vansthali Vidyapeeth, Vansthali with a teching experience of three years.

Mr. Anil Choudhary : M. Sc., M. Tech., has rich experience in various areas of Information Technology.
